The Klamath City School District and TEAM Klamath announced today that Newman Development Group, LLC of San Francisco has completed the purchase of 11 acres from the City School District for a retail shopping center to be called Town Square Plaza. Construction is expected to begin Spring of 2009.
Klamath County Commissioner Al Switzer congratulated Superintendant Cec Amuchastegui and all of TEAM Klamath for the years of work to make this a success and proclaimed "this is just the shot in the arm our economy needs right now."
Mayor Todd Kellstrom also congratulated City Councilwoman Trish Seiler with her vision and leadership in commercial development, noting that she is a valuable member of Team Klamath.
Councilwoman Seiler stated. "This project is an example of why I enjoy working with Team Klamath. It's all about relationships. Every project I have worked on, in the city, county, region, or statewide, has been about building effective partnerships to solve difficult problems. Such collaboration takes time, commitment, listening and leadership."
